Who doesn’t love Target? Most moms do, but probably not as much as 7 year old, Parker Cook. According to Popsugar, Parker’s mom, Kara Cook, makes it a point to throw her children very original birthday parties that reflect their interests. And since her son, Parker, has a passion for the ultimate red and white one-stop-shop, she took it upon herself to make the celebration a reality.
Kara told Popsugar that when she talked to a general manager, there wasn’t anything official they could do for her in terms of actual preparations for the party as the superstore doesn’t really do birthday parties. However, the manager did say that they couldn’t stop customers from entering the store. So, as long as they weren’t disruptive, then they can surely make a party of it. And that, she did.
She sent out invites and even asked all the guests to wear red shirts and khakis to the party. She set up the party at the cafe and brought in an adorable Bullseye (Target mascot) cake and red and white Target cupcakes. She decorated the cafe with balloons and even added fun party activities like make your own bracelets and Target name tags. They played a “Spot Bullseye” scavenger hunt and before the party ended, she had the kids choose party favors to take home at the dollar area.
“The whole party from start to finish was only an hour and a half and was by far the easiest party I have ever planned”, Kara told Popsugar.
